Virgin Australia soon to re-launch Samoa and Vanuatu flights

In great news for Australian leisure travelers Virgin Australia are making a a rather notable expansion to their relatively small post Covid international travel schedule by adding direct flights to Vanuatu and Samoa. The newly re-launched services will complement Virgin’s already current international flights between Australia and Bali and Queenstown and will come ahead of Virgin’s new inaugural Boeing 737 Max flights due to take off between Cairns and Tokyo from June 28. The launch of all 3 of these new services by the middle of this year will see Virgin’s international destinations reach 5.

Virgin Australia are not new to either destination having served both prior to the outbreak of the pandemic both under the Virgin Australia brand and also Pacific Blue.

The soon to be re-launched Virgin services to both Vanuatu and Samoa will be serviced with Virgin Australia’s workhorse Boeing 737 jets which are the backbone behind Virgin Australia’s inter city domestic and short haul international networks. As like with their other Boeing 737 flights a comfortable and small 4 seat business cabin with leather recliner seats will complement an extra legroom Economy X seats for those looking to get their in style or with added comfort.

The three hour flight between Brisbane and Vanuatu capital of Port Villa will operate five days a week form March 10 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Flights to the Samoan Capital of Apia are slated to begin shortly from both Sydney and and Brisbane with the former to see up to 3 weekly flights including on at least Tuesdays and Saturdays from March 21. Several days later from March 23 there will also be a twice weekly Brisbane to Apia flight leaving on Thursday and Sunday nights.

For those wishing to get to either of these Pacific Island paradise destinations with points Virgin appear to have good availability with reward tickets up for grabs starting at just 11,800pts+taxes between Brisbane and Port Villa for economy and 23,500pts+ taxes for Business. For those heading to Apia from either Sydney or Brisbane a one way reward redemption can be had in economy for 22,300pts+taxes or 49,500pts + taxes in Business.
