Join the AussieJetSetter for another one of my flight reviews as this time we put Thai Smile Airways which is the wholly owned and soon to be merged regional subsidiary of Thai Airways International to the full test on a recent flight between Penang and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. Ultimately we discover whether it is worth paying the considerable extra premium the Thai carrier charges over many of its lower cost budget airline competitors on the short domestic and intra- South East Asia flights that it operates.
In this review of Thai Smile Airways on their Airbus A320 in there regular economy class ‘Smile Class’ I will assess everything from the ground handling experience, to the aircraft and seat condition, on board food and beverage offerings and of course value for money and ultimately wherever its worth your time and money flying Thai Smile in 2023 admits the backdrop of fierce competition on this and many of the other routes Thai Smile Airways operate both domestically and regionally in Asia. As an added bonus I also check out the Plaza Premium International Lounge whilst at Penang Airport offering my thoughts and assessments on this lounge as well!
