Where is Qantas’s Business Lounge Located?

Qantas’s Perth Domestic Business Lounge is located in Perth Airport’s Terminal 4. After clearing security you can find the lounge in the main departures concourse adjacent to gate 15.

Who Can Access the Lounge and When is it Open?

Qantas’s Domestic Business Lounge operating hours are generally one hour before each Qantas operated service until the last Qantas departure. With Perth Airport seeing it’s first daily pre dawn departures for the East Coast capitals before continuing all throughout the day all the way to the last departing red-eye departures heading across the continent around midnight and even later the lounge has very extensive opening hours. As a general rule of thumb expect the lounge to be open from around 5am to midnight daily although these times may vary slightly.

Qantas’s Perth Domestic Business Lounge can be accessed through numerous different pathways for traveler’s flying on the Red Roo and its partner and alliance airlines. This can include for business class travelers, those with advanced airline and airline partner frequent flyer status. Some of these pathways will also allow an additional +1 guest but confirm with the airline first.

Business Class Passengers: For passengers flying Business on Qantas, or OneWorld and Emirates flight numbers

QFF Membership Status: Qantas platinum and Above

Airline partner frequent flyer status: Emirates Platinum Skywards and China Eastern Miles Platinum

Alliance frequent flyer status:  Oneworld Emerald

Lounge Design and Seating

Upon entering the lounge you’ll notice that the lounge could be described as having three main sections. Upon entering the lounge and past reception you’ll first notice a general seating area on the left hand side. Generally it is the quieter and possibly more relaxing area of the lounge and probably a good place to sit for quick visits to the lounge. Coming to the end of the walkway turn right and you’ll see the central area of the lounge which offers partially obscured views of the tarmac and also contains the main self service buffet area and the tendered barista station. This is a great place to sit if you want to be in the livelier area of the lounge and amongst the action. Finally at the end of this section turn right again and you’ll see the main bar which is accompanied by tv’s and more casual seating options. Sit here if you want to be in the more social area of the lounge. Overall this is a well designed and modern lounge offering the usual varied and comfortable seating arrangements that Qantas Lounges are well known for.

Food and Beverage

Self Service Buffet

Food available for the late Wednesday morning departures over east consisted of self serve buffet serving popular continental and hot English breakfast favorites in addition to barista made coffee freely doing the rounds. On other visits during the afternoon hours this particular lounge is famed for its oven cooked pizzas freely doing the rounds along with more substantial bites.

The Bar

Unfortunately, unlike it its international counterparts alcoholic bar service is not available around the clock and does not commence to 12pm. For those that don’t mind having a cheeky morning beer or glass of sparkling this might be disappointing but the norm for domestic Australian lounges. For those arriving at the the lounge after noon however expect a reasonably well stocked tendered bar with a decent selection of wines on offer although Australian sparkling wine still takes its place over any champagne offering. A decent selection of popular sprits are also available in addition to Heineken, 150 Lashes, Hahn Super Dry and Little Creatures on tap in addition to several other beers in stubbies. Cider lovers will be pleased to see James Squire Orchid Crush also on tap. A good range of soft drinks and juices also complete the selection.

Service and Staff

Compared to Qantas’s International Lounges and some of their regional Qantas Club’s you’ll really notice the staffing and customer service at this lounge. Customer facing Staffing at the lounge is not just confined to to the reception desk and cleaning crew Most notably there is an assisted buffet and tendered bar and also a barista station. Service staff did well to regularly replenish the food and drinks options whilst cleaning staff were spotted often sanitizing and clearing tables and keeping the amenities in good condition. Good work Qantas here!

Lounge Amenities

The Qantas Domestic Business Lounge in Perth offers a good range of premium amenties and this certainly shows a distinction over the lower level Qantas Clubs. The bathroom area appeared to be well serviced and kept clean during our visit. Showers which are contained in a separate room were also in good condition and outfitted with premium toiletries.

The WIFI appeared to work well in the lounge and was amongst some of the fastest and most reliable we had experienced in a lounge before. Access to charging ports were available in the lounge but there not available in all locations so if you need them be sure to check before settling in. The lounge also has a magazine rack which provides a range of literature and newspapers and also the QANTAS Magazine for those who fancy an old fashioned read before on on their flight.

Summing Up

Qantas’s Domestic Business Lounge has proved to be a great addition to Qantas’s Lounge Network in Perth opening back in 2015. For those travelers flying business or with higher Qantas FF Status they will sure to appreciate the elevated comfort and dining experiences in this lounge over the standard Qantas Club fare. All in all this is one of the best domestic Qantas Lounge’s in Australia!
