While many Australian’s were busy preoccupied celebrating and relaxing on Christmas Day, the mood at Australian budget carrier Jetstar was equally upbeat as it celebrated the arrival of two more Airbus A321 NEO aircraft touching down in Melbourne on Christmas Day. The new duo of Neos which will become the third and fourth in Jetstar’s latest fleet addition and flew in formation taking of from the Airbus factory in Hamburg Germany making intermediate stops in Bengaluru and Perth along the way before jetting into Melbourne. The two new additions to the A321 Neo fleet are amongst the first of the aircraft to arrive for Jetstar for which the airline hopes to expand to 18 by the middle of 2024.
Jetstar have high hopes to use the famed aircraft which will feature 232 seats in an all economy configuration and coming complete with USB power outlets, extra large overhead storage bins and coloured LED lightning to help set the mood for flights.
The aircraft are known for their longer range of up to 3,500 nautical miles with the airline beleived to be transitioning some of its medium haul international flights to the aircraft and freeing up there 787 Dreamliner’s in the process to fulfill extra frequencies or new routes on longer services.
Jetstar have informed the new NEOs will begin next week flying to some of Jetstar’s most popular holiday destinations such as Brisbane, Gold Coast, Bali and also on the new route between Sydney and Rarotonga which will begin next June.
