In great news for Victorian travelers bound for Tokyo or the Japanese ski slopes of Hokkaido later in the year, Japan Airlines have responded to soaring demand by adding an extra weekly departure to is Boeing 787 service between Melbourne and Tokyo from March 26.
A new Friday service will see JL 774 take off from Melbourne at 8.15am for a convenient daytime journey across to Tokyo -Narita landing at 4.15pm that afternoon in addition to its Tuesday, Thursday and Friday departures. The in-bound service JL 773 will see JAL’s 787 Dreamliner take off on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings at 6.35pm before touching down in Melbourne at 6.30am the following morning.
The soon to be 4 times weekly service from Melbourne to Tokyo also will nicely compelenmet its daily Sydney to Tokyo Haneda service which is operated by its Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
