Whilst still a long way from its pre Covid operating schedule into Australia Victorians and New South Wales residents will now have even more opportunities to return to the classic Aussie holiday destination of Bali or Indonesia’s exciting capital Jakarta with flagship Indonesian carrier announcing an increase to its Sydney and Melbourne services.
From April 5 Garuda’s services between Sydney and Denpasar will increase from the current 2 to thrice weekly with a fourth service to begin from July 7. GA 715 will depart Sydney at 10.05am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings for a leisurely daytime flight over to Bali which arrives at 2.40pm. The fourth weekly service will be on Sundays. The return service GA714 will be wheels up out of Bali at 11.40pm every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday night before arriving at 7.25am the next morning with the fourth upcoming service to be operated on Fridays
Garuda’s reemerging presence in Sydney doesn’t stop there with its currently thrice weekly service to Jakarta said to increase to four times weekly from July 2. GA713 will depart every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday taking off out of Sydney at 11.45am for a convenient daytime flight which arrives into Jakarta at 4.30pm. The inbound flight GA712 will leave Jakarta at 11.55pm on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday evenings before a mid morning arrival into Sydney the next day.
Melbournians won’t miss out on the extra presence of Garuda in town either with the current twice weekly Melbourne to Jakarta service poised to increase to thrice weekly from April 3. GA717 will depart Melbourne at 8am on Tuesday, Thursday and Sundays ahead to a 12.20pm arrival into Jakarta. On the return from Jakarta GA716 will be wheels up at 9.15pm ever Monday, Wednesday and Sturday evenings before arrivng intin o Melbourne at 6.35am the following morning.
Bali services are also in for a much needed increase with the once per week service to increase to twice weekly from April 7 with a third weekly service coming on board on July 2. GA 719 will depart every Friday and Saturday at 8am ahead of a lunchtime arrival into Bali at 12.05pm. From July, Monday will see the third service. On the return GA718 will jet out of Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport 11.05pm before arriving into Melbourne at 6.35am the next morning. Both of the services will be operated by a variety of Garuda’s Airbus A330 Aircraft.
Whilst it is great to hear Garuda are slowing getting back into the Australian market after being hit hard by the Covid 19 pandemic the airline has yet to announce their intentions whether to return to Australian shores across most capital cities with their extensive Bali services prior to Covid.
