Join me for a flight review of the shortest flight I’ve ever taken on FireFly Airlines between the Malaysian islands of Langkawi and Penang which is made even more remarkable by the fact that it is operated not by a turboprop but by a full fledged Boeing 737-800 jet aircraft! In this remarkably quick flight between the two islands that can also be reached in under 3 hours by ferry this flight will take us on a scenic cruise of the coast of peninsula Malaysia at just 9,00 feet taking just 22 minutes to complete this 129km journey down to Penang! Surprisingly not expecting any sort of inflight service for a barely levelling off at cruising altitude the crew come around doing an inflight service with complimentary snacks so I am pleased to still be able to offer a full review on this flight including everything from the ground handling, aircraft and seat confusion, in flight service, entertainment. I also offer my overall thoughts and assessments on the state of FireFly Airlines as the budget carrier subsidiary of parent company Malaysia Airlines. Whilst I’m at Langkawi Airport I also have to opportunity to check out and showcase the Plaza Premium Lounge before my flight as an added bonus!
