How to get to Norfolk Island? It is easier than you might think!
Norfolk Island is a remote and tiny little island in the middle of the South Pacific some 1400km off Evans Head on Australia’s east coast mainland and some 800km north of New Zealand and 800km south of New Caledonia. Whilst the island may only have 2200 local residents it has a developed tourism infrastructure and can be reached from Sydney or Brisbane 3 times and twice weekly respectively on Qantas with a Boeing 737-800 (flight time 2-2.5 hours). Alternatively Air Chathams operate a once weekly service to Auckland with their ATR 72 aircraft (occasionally a Saab340) – flight time is around 2 hours and 45 minutes.
