Join Aussie JetSetter for a comprehensive walking tour of the South Australian capital of Adelaide. As Australia’s fifth largest city, Adelaide is often referred to as the City of Churches and Australia’s Festival City. With a population shy under 1.5 million, Adelaide is well known for its high rankings in global liability standards and for its leafy city parklands and historic buildings and is adorned by its nearby beautiful beaches, hills region and the Barossa Valley wine region.
In this walking tour I will show you all the best sights and sounds of Adelaide starting on North Terrace and the Adelaide Railway Station. We will then continue through to the Adelaide Riverbank precinct before crossing over the River Torrens to explore the beautiful Adelaide Parklands precinct which is home to the Adelaide Oval and Memorial Drive Park (most notably used for Adelaide International Tennis) and also the lovely Pennington Gardens. We will then continue onto the busy city thoroughfare of King William Road crossing over the Torrens and back into the city centre past the Torrens Parade Ground. Afterwards we then turn left onto North Terrace before then turning right onto Gawler Place and then walking through the busy Rundle Street Mall which is the city’s premier shopping district. After that we then turn right onto Pulteney Street before then turning on to Grenfell Street which is another busy thoroughfare in Adelaide. Afterwards we head north on King William Road and head to the city’s famous Central Markets for a walkthrough of this bustling marketplace then we drop by Chinatown before finishing in the city’s lively nightlife and entertainment district which is concentrated in the city’s west end on Hindley Street where we wrap up today’s walking tour.
