Join AussieJetSetter in the latest of our flight reviews as this time we check out EVA Air and what it is like to fly in their economy class on a a medium haul 3.5 hour flight between Bangkok and Taipei that originates from Vienna, Austria on their super modern and relatively young Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner! EVA Air which for short translates to Evergreen Airways is the largest privately owned airline in Taiwan and coming in only second to China Airlines as the biggest airline overall in Taiwan. Founded 34 years ago and with a fleet size of 85 aircraft the airline is one of the world’s most reputable with a 5 star Skytrax rating putting it as one of the best airlines in the world and with a route map that penetrates far into Europe and North America that makes EVA Air one of the most dominant carriers of East Asia.
In this review we seek to put EVA Air to the test to see whether the 5 star hype lives up to expectation about the airline being rated one of the world’s best full service airlines. I will assess everything from the ground handling experience, to the aircraft and seat condition, on board food and beverage offerings and of course value for money and ultimately wherever its worth your time and money flying EVA Air in 2023 admits the backdrop of fierce competition on this and many of the other routes EVA Air operate regionally in Asia. ! As an added bonus before leaving Bangkok I will also check out the Oman Air Lounge in Bangkok and offer my take on a unique opportunity to try and airline branded lounge courtesy of Priority Pass!
