In great news for West Aussie holiday makers there will now even be more choice and competition on the Perth to Bali route with the Indonesian carrier soon to rejoin its presence on the busy route. From 19th July Citlink will commence a daily service using their Airbus A320 aircraft which will fly to Perth during the early morning hours for a 4.50am arrival before departing at a more leisurely 7.30am hop on the 3.5 hour journey through to Bali.
As an added bonus Citilink will also be launching a Jakarta – Perth service which will operate on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 29 July on an Airbus A320 on an evening flight arriving into Perth at 12.10am. Meanwhile the Perth – Jakarta service will operate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, departing from Perth as a red-eye special leaving Perth at 1.30am for a super early arrival into Jakarta.
Perth Airport Acting Chief Executive Officer Kate Holsgrove said the Citilink Perth-Bali and Perth–Jakarta services bring more competition and more choice for travellers noting that
“It’s great that Citilink is returning, especially given that these services will bring almost 190,000 additional seats to the market, which is fantastic news for those travelling for leisure, business or education.
“Indonesia is our nearest neighbour and one of the most popular tourism destinations for Western Australians.
“And as a significant trading partner with a population of 273 million, these new services to Indonesia only brings further business and trade opportunities,” said Ms Holsgrove.
Citilink Indonesia CEO Dewa Rai has stated, “These new International routes are quite promising considering that tourists from Australia are one of the highest number of tourists visiting Indonesia in 2022.”
Dewa added” that with the recently received global award from Skytrax, Citilink is highly optimistic that this award gives us an advantage of added value in attracting the public’s interest. This can be applied for Indonesians and foreign tourists alike, to visit Jakarta, Denpasar and Perth respectively.”
“The opening of these new international routes is expected to improve bilateral relations between the two countries so that they can increase the potential for cooperation in various sectors such as culture, economy, politics, social and so many more,” concluded Dewa.
