In disappointing news for West Australian travelers it appears Japanese airline All Nippon Airways have further delayed the resumption of direct Perth to Tokyo flights. The hugely popular ANA Perth to Tokyo service which was was launched in September 2019 has been put on pause since the onset of the global Covid Pandemic back in March 2020.
It had been widely speculated that the airline had planned to resume the service on March 26 this year coming off the back of the signing of a codeshare agreement with Virgin Australia but according to the airline’s recent Northern Summer Schedule the flights are absent from the lineup which takes effect through to the end of October.
For travelers keen on direct flights between Perth and Tokyo will now most likely have to look towards the release of the Northern Winter schedule whereby there is a strong chance the flights will final return coming off the back of the strong demand for Aussies travelling for the Japan ski season in Hokkaido.
For now Australians wishing to fly ANA will still have the opportunity to fly on the airline’s sole Australain route between Sydney and Tokyo-Haneda which has recently been upped to a 10times weekly service onboard its Boeing 787’s.
Previously ANA’s Perth to Tokyo-Narita service left Perth at 9.45pm before arriving into Tokyo at 8.25am the next morning whilst the inbound flight was wheels up from Narita at 11.15am for a leisurely afternoon flight to Perth landing some 10 hours later around 8.15pm.
