Mauritius’s flag carrier has finally made it’s long awaited return to the Australian market with the first flight in over two years touching down in Perth on Wednesday morning. The rather unique service reestablishes a key link from Australia’s west coast to the East African island nation.
The resumed service will now jet off twice weekly on an Airbus A330 Neo with a total journey time of 6 hours and 55 minutes on its eastbound journey across the Indian Ocean from Port Louis to Perth. The outbound flight MK440 will depart on Tuesday and Saturday evening local time at 10.15pm and arrive into Perth at 9.10am the following day.
The return leg MK 441 will depart Perth on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons at 1.05pm before making the westbound 8 hours and 5 minutes journey to Port Louis arriving at 5.10pm.
For those looking to travel in style the airline’s fully equipped and catered for business class comes equipped with 28 seats in a 1-2-1 layout offering direct aisle access.
Whilst the national airline of the small Indian Ocean island has a relatively small route map, the airline does fly to eight destinations across some of the biggest hubs in Europe, Asia and Africa making it possible for travelers from Australia to transit via Mauritius en-route to destinations such as London or Paris.
Return fares on the route between Perth and Mauritius are now available from $1527 return.
